English Language Development Services
Sheltered Instruction
Students receive additional English Language supports in reading, writing, listening, and speaking from their general education teacher to access the content in their regular classroom
ELD Pull Out Services
Students are pulled out of class for special English Language instruction at their level from an English Language Development Specialist or instructional assistant - typically in a small group or ELD class period
ELD Push In Services
An English Language Development specialist or instructional assistant provides instruction and support in the student’s regular classroom
Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program
Students maintain their home language while simultaneously learning English and developing reading and writing skills in both languages
Research shows that English Learners in dual language programs outperform their peers in English-only programs on state assessments by middle school
Students thrive in a community that celebrates language and culture and builds students’ abilities to stand up for their own language and culture, and the languages and cultures of others
